Hazardous Chemical RFID Traceability Management

The disposal process of medical waste needs to be controlled and managed from the source. Its collection, storage, transportation and disposal processes must be supervised throughout the entire process, especially for the disposal of medical waste such as new crown pneumonia, which is highly contagious, and in the process of full control, the supervision of medical waste must not be absent, but the fewer the personnel involved, the more the risk of infection can be maximized and reduced.

With RFID technology as the core, to build a new type of medical waste management platform based on RFID technology, the collection of medical waste, transit, destruction process of the whole process of supervision, to eliminate possible loopholes, so that the management of medical waste management to further standardize and informatization, and improve the level of supervision of medical waste.

RFID medical waste management process

01. RFID tag binding

RFID electronic tag as a carrier of data, through the binding with the waste barrel, realizing the conversion of physical flow to data flow, providing basic data for this system. When the medical waste barrel is vacant, the RFID tag can be bound with the barrel one by one by pasting or injection molding or adhesive wrapping. After binding, the RFID tag data can be read to locate the corresponding waste drum information. the RFID tag completes the initialization of data and synchronizes the data to the system backend.

02. Data Acquisition

For organizations with a large amount of waste, it is recommended to install fixed RFID readers and combine them with the weighing system. Waste drums with RFID tags installed will be weighed together with medical waste. When the RFID data collector reads the electronic tag information of the waste drums, it will obtain the weight of medical waste from the weighing system and write the weight information into the electronic tags, and the system backend will update the information of new waste in real time.

For more decentralized and fewer organizations, RFID handheld terminals can be used, which can be several meters away from the waste drums to achieve the collection of data, reducing the intermediate links and reducing the risk of staff being infected.

03. Transportation Management

Location-based services mainly use GPS devices and transportation vehicles to complete the binding of the transportation vehicle routes, time supervision and control. It supports the query of trajectory, which has significant effect on improving the transportation safety and ensuring the fixed line and time transportation of medical waste.

04. Transfer and incineration

In the transfer center and incineration center, barrels containing medical waste put on the conveyor belt, to the weighing position, waste barrel tags are read by RFID read-write, and at the same time will be weighed again and the data back to the background management system, the management system will get the weight information and the weight information stored in the garbage cans electronic tags for comparison, no error will be carried out in the subsequent transfer and incineration operations, otherwise the alarm to prompt the Otherwise, the alarm will be raised to prompt the staff to deal with it.

RFID medical waste management advantages

1, to achieve the collection of medical waste barrels, transportation, centralized disposal and other processes of traceable management;

2, Reduce the contact between personnel and medical waste, improve the efficiency of medical waste disposal;

3, batch operation, intelligent identification and automatic access to the warehouse, real-time synchronization with the background data;

4, Avoid medical waste being utilized by illegal elements, causing pollution to the society and endangering people’s health;

5, Statistical reports in various forms, complete information, can be exported and printed to facilitate management inquiries;

6, RFID handheld terminal recognition distance, long endurance, improve the efficiency of medical waste collection;

7, RFID read-write can be connected to multiple external antennas, omni-directional, multi-angle batch identification, do not miss reading.
