1、What is RFID?

RFID stands for Radio Frequency Identification, which is called radio frequency identification in Chinese. It is a very commonly used communication technology at present. It can identify specific targets and read and write related data through radio signals without the need to establish mechanical or optical contact between the identification system and specific targets. RFID is currently one of the most mature technologies used in the perception layer of the Internet of Things. A typical RFID system includes four components: RFID tags, readers, read-write antennas, and application software. 

2、Classification of RFID air interface protocol standards

From the point of view of the air interface protocol that the chip conforms to: The current common UHF RFID air interface protocols in China include international standards, national standards, industry standards, and corporate standards. The mainstream chips in the market basically refer to ISO/IEC 18000-6C.

(1) International standards: ISO/IEC 18000-6 series standards, including ISO/IEC18000-6A(61), ISO/IEC 18000-6B(62), ISO/IEC18000-6C(63, EPCC1GEN 2), ISO/ IEC 18000-6D(64);

Application field of integrated reader:

1. The integrated reader is mainly used in the non-intensive situations where a large number of tags need to be read for the identification of vehicles, personnel access control, industrial production line material identification, etc.;

2. The reading distance of the integrated reader can be selected according to the use scene, the required reading distance, and the antenna irradiation angle to select the integrated reader with different gains and irradiation angles;

Fixed RFID reader, also known as split RFID reader, the reading and writing part of the fixed reader is arranged separately from the RFID antenna, and the radio frequency signal between them is connected by a coaxial cable

3. The functions of fixed RFID readers are more abundant, and there are more choices of GPIO interface, communication interface, etc., which makes it easier to realize project system integration;

4. The outdoor installation of the fixed reader/writer host needs to be equipped with a waterproof outer box, and the work between the reader and the antenna needs to be connected through a good quality coaxial feeder to ensure its long-term stable operation;

5. The application scenarios of fixed readers are wider, and the readers can be competent for more complex working environments, for example; requiring fast tags, a large number of inventories, long distances, fast speeds, etc.;
